Description: RARE 4 1/25'' GAUGE LOCOMOTIVE; A rare and unusual 4.25'' gauge ' Snipe ' believed live steam (possibly gas fired) railway locomotive. Highly detailed engine, complete with engraved loco plaques to sides. The bogeys riding on leaf spring suspension. The tender with working handbrake. No makers marks. The locomotive was purchased some years ago and then fully restored to working order. Parts of the boiler appear to be antique (possibly Bassett Lowke, Henry Greenly or similar) but are unmarked with any makers name. Complete with brass pressure gauge (looks pre-war) to cab and opening hatch to front. The loco has been regularly oiled and maintained for display purposes. Locomotive 24'' long, tender 13.5''. Comes with a custom made metal display stand. An unusual loco, with little know of it's origin. It is possibly Irish, but no makers marks are on the locomotive.
