These 4 books are in great condition for their age with average page coloring and wear, as shown. All 4 books have strong binding with some cover wear. Covers are accented with gold lettering on the spine, marbled hard cover, and marbled edged pages. “Iconographic Encyclopedia of Science, Literature, and Art. Systematically arranged by J.G. Heck: Translated from the German, with Additions, and Edited by Spencer F Baird, A.M., M.D., Professor of Natural Sciences in Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA.” : Illustrated by Five Hundred Steel Plates, containing upwards of Twelve Thousand Engravings. In Four Volumes New York: 1851 Rudolph Garrigue, Publisher, 2 Barclay Street (Astor House)”.
