Egypt, New Kingdom, ca. 1150 to 1070 BCE. An extremely rare scarab in traditional beetle form, positioned side-by-side four across, made of glazed steatite. Underside inscribed with repeating "enra" inscription, a symbol that seems to have possessed magical value, perhaps comparable to modern "abracadabra." Size: 0.6" L (1.5 cm)
