Description: Rare WW2 Special Forces British Army Aid Group Formation Sign, being an embroidered scarlet and yellow pimpernel on dark navy blue cloth backing. Insignia appears to be in mint un-issued condition. British Army Aid Group (B.A.A.G) was formed by Major, later Lt Col, L T Ride, in China on 6th March 1942. Ride had escaped captivity from the Japanese and the idea of the unit was to aid prisoners of war and to help with escapes etc. The unit was disbanded 31st December 1945.
