Etching and drypoint, 1640. 151x137 mm; 6x5 1/2 inches, thread margins. Biörklund''s first state (of 3); Usticke''s first state (of 3); White and Boon''s first state (of 3). Partial Strasburg Lily watermark (Hinterding ZZ.zz., which he cites for early impressions of this subject). A superb, richkly-inked, early impression with burr on the thumb of the right hand, on the mouth and nose and on the horizontal lines at the lower edge of the plate, consistent with the earliest impressions of this subject.
