Note: Born in a log cabin in rural North Carolina, Russell Gillespsie sculpted from the roots and knots of trees and carved birds and animals from gourds. In this engaging sculpture, a man descends the stairs of his cabin with a bucket in hand to be filled by the dipper hanging next to the imaginary stream. Surrounding the cabin are a bird in a tree, several deer and small animals.
