About the donors:
Orton, Sr was president of OSU. Orton Jr was dean of the College of Engineering at OSU and he founded the American Ceramic Society. He founded the Ceramics program at OSU. He also founded the Orton library in memory of his father. Frederick W. Schumacher was, of course, donated one of the founding collections at the Museum. Orlando Miller also donated over the years. John R. Gobey bequeathed several fine American paintings to the Museum. This was Talfourd P. Linn's only art contribution.
