Robert Banks: an impressive collection of late 19th & early 20th Cent. Photographs, the majority 4 x 6"; most depict events in the life of the Cities of Manchester & Salford, plus few other Lancashire locations, and many have been annotated on the reverse by the photographer; includes Preston Guild 1902, visitors leaving Strangeways Prison, Royal and State Visits, Indian Troops en route from Liverpool via the Ship Canal, Billy Meredith of Manchester City F.C. with Arthur Balfour, loading 29 ton gun barrel on to a ship at Manchester Docks, etc. A few photos damaged but the large majority are VG to fine.
