Description: A Roman bronze ring with gold bearing glass intaglio, 1st Century AD, depicting an athlete holding a ball? Opposite a robed woman, a column atop a cippus between them. The stone is of blue and green gold bearing glass and nicely detailed and within the original bronze ring which was likely originally gilded and of high quality. Stone measures 13 x 10mm; Ring size about 6 ½. Ex collection of William Major Tedder.
