Description: 2nd-3rd century AD. A cast handle with two curved lateral extensions to accept rivets and a third below; the upper face with low relief figure advancing with wings to the shoulders above a motif of a bird seizing a fish; the outer end with lozenge detail and openwork scroll ornament; flange to the curved finial with attachment rivet. 148 grams, 14.5cm (5 3/4").
