Description: 1st-3rd century AD. A pair of gold wire earrings, openwork teardrop shape with gold wire around the lower end and terminal gold bead; gold band across the middle with teardrop-shaped setting with red glass inlay; mounted on a custom-made stand. 17.36 grams total, 40mm including stand (1 3/4"). Property of a North American gentleman; previously in a New York collection, purchased from Henry Anavian prior to 1985.
