Description: 3rd century AD. A matched pair of gold earrings, each a discoid plaque with inset green glass cloison, dangle with twisted shank, loop with granule, two conical plaques framing a biconical glass bead, hook to the reverse. See Ruseva-Slokoska, L. Roman Jewellery, Sofia, 1991, item 32a for type. 5.85 grams total, 49-50mm (2"). From an important London collection, acquired in the 1990s.
