Description: 1st-2nd century AD. A round-section hoop with discoid plaque, inset glass cloison with intaglio bust of Faunus. 1.6 grams, 19mm overall, 16.07mm internal diameter (approximate size British K, USA 5 1/4, Europe 10.27, Japan 10) (3/4"). Property of a European gentleman living in the UK; formerly in a private collection formed in the 1990s. Faunus was the Roman equivalent to the Greek Pan, god of the countryside, wild places and fertility.
