Description: 1st-3rd century AD. A gold ring with twisted shank, bezel in the form of a sandal with punched dot decoration to represent hob nails. 2 grams, 22mm overall, 20.67mm internal diameter (approximate ring size British V 1/2, USA 11, Europe 24.91, Japan 24) (3/4"). Property of a Cambridgeshire collector; previously in a Nottinghamshire collection; acquired in the 1960s; thence by descent 2005.
