Description: 3rd-4th century AD. A large globular iridescent glass body with dimple base, tapering neck with folded trefoil rim, flat-section strap handle with thumb-pad. Cf. Whitehouse, D. Roman Glass in the Corning Museum of Glass, vol.1, New York, 1997, item 334. 195 grams, 16cm (6 1/4"). From an important London collection, acquired in the 1990s.
