Description: 2nd century AD. A bronze plate brooch formed as four profile horse-heads radiating from a central ring-and-dot, each with ring-and-dot eye and notched mouth, pointed ears; hinged pin and catchplate to the reverse. See Heynowski, R. Bestimmungsbuch Archaeologie: Fibeln, Munich, 2012, item 3.26.14 for type, 9.33 grams, 35mm (1 1/2"). Property of a London gentleman; acquired before 1995.
