Description: 2nd-3rd century AD. A terracotta whistle in the form of a lion's head with snake coiled around neck, collar with ovolo pattern; snake and mouthpiece with white glaze. 35 grams, 10.5cm (4"). Private collection, North London; acquired in the early 1990s.
