Description: A Roman marble herm bust of a Celtic queen or goddess, c. 1st-2nd Century AD, with long curling hair, centrally-parted and flowing to the shoulders, wearing a diadem, the brow furrowed above deep-set eyes, and the ears drilled for earrings, She wears a torq around the neck and the back of the head is flat, H: 6 in (15.2cm). Ex New York private collection, acquired between 1970 and 1989; thence by descent.
