Description: 1st-3rd century AD. A group of six intaglios including: a garnet engraved with the image of a standing bird; a hexagonal carnelian engraved with the standing figure of Fortuna holding cornucopia and rudder; a carnelian engraved with the image of a semi-naked Venus taking off a sandal; a glass intaglio engraved with a standing female figure; a agate engraved with the figure of Fortuna seated and holding a cornucopia; a quartz engraved with Jupiter seated on a throne and holding a staff, eagle at feet. 4 grams total, 8-12mm (1/4 - 1/2"). Property of a London, UK collection; acquired UK art market, 1970-1990. [6, No Reserve]
