Description: 3rd century AD. A D-section silver hoop with expanding keeled shoulders, flat plaque with inset carnelian cloison, intaglio standing figure of Minerva (Athena) with staff in the left hand, object in the right. Cf. Ruseva-Slokoska, L. Roman Jewellery, Sofia, 1991, item 182 for type. 15 grams, 31mm overall, 21.72x17.50mm internal diameter (approximate size British O, USA 7, Europe 14.98, Japan 14) (1 1/4"). From a private collection; formed 1965-1975.

Condition Report: Very fine condition. A large wearable size.
