Animaliere, Realism painting in pale shades depicting a country landscape, with three Clydesdales pulling a hay wagon along a country road, attended by peasants set against a vast pastoral landscaped, titled “Summer Hayride”. This equals her famous piece exhibited at the Salon of 1853, depicting a team of oxen plowing a field titled “The Horse Fair”, and is now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York City. Bonheur is widely considered to have been the most famous female painter of the nineteenth century. Authenticity guaranteed. Measures: 21 ½” height x 37 ½” width + 7” frame (55cm x 95.7cm +18.4cm).
