SAMUEL F. B. MORSE (1791-1872). American artist, sculptor and inventor of the telegraph and Morse Code, often called the "American Leonardo" because of his well-rounded genius. On May 24, 1844, Morse sent the famous first telegraph message, "What hath God wrought?" Darkly penned cut signature "Saml. F. B. Morse" on blue paper, 3"x3/4". Mounted to card. Tiny spot at bottom right edge; else a very strong bold signature. Est: $350-600
