circa 1830 and almost certainly made as percussion, browned 10in. twist-iron octagonal barrels signed in script on the top-flat ''SAMUEL NOCK, REGENT CIRCUS, PICCADILLY, LONDON'', twin platinum lines to the coloured breeches, the tops inlet with a platinum poincon stamped ''S. NOCK'' in raised letters, dovetailed fore-sight beads, standing notch rear-sights to the fully engraved top-tangs, fully border and scroll engraved re-blued flat locks signed in ribbons ''SAMUEL NOCK'', sliding safes behind the scroll engraved slab-sided hammers, walnut half-stocks with chequered bag-shaped butts (losses to top edge of fore-end on one pistol), re-blued furniture and horn-tipped mahogany ramrods; COMPLETE WITH their makers original mahogany storage case, the interior compartmented and lined in the original green velvet (faded and stained in places) and containing a number of period accessories including a three-way flask, a loading mallet and cleaning rod combined, a slightly later nipple key and scissors ball-mould, the lid interior with original ''Samuel Nock'' parchment trade label to the same address as the pistols and marked ''GUNMAKER TO HIS MAJESTY''
