Manufactured in 1905. Shear blade front sight, no provisions for a rear sight and an adjustable Lyman rear peep sight mounted to the left side of the receiver. The left rear of the barrel is marked with the two line nickel steel/smokeless powder marking, "405 W.C.F." on top at the breech and the Winchester oval proof on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech. The underside of the barrel is fitted with a sling swivel eye. The left side of the receiver is marked with the two line address/patent dates. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 95/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK". Mounted on a smooth walnut forearm with a Schnabel tip with ebony inlay and a straight grip stock with rear sling swivel and recoil pad.

Condition: Extremely fine. The rifle retains 80% plus bright original blue finish with some thinning and edge wear, and some minor oxidation on the receiver and lever. The wood is excellent with some scattered minor dings and handling marks, and a few light scratches. The correct original recoil pad has collapsed from heat. The checkering remains crisp. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
