Description: 5th century BC. A bronze sceptre head comprising a bell-shaped socket and lateral loop, discoid panel with standing figurine of a moufflon with head raised, curled horns to the sides, annular eyes. 322 grams, 13.5cm (5 1/4"). Property of a North American gentleman; formerly in a German collection, acquired from M. Yeganeh, Frankfurt, prior to 1980.
