Description: Title: History of the Fortieth (Mozart) Regiment New York Volunteers, Which Was Composed of Four Companies from New York, Four from Massachusetts, and Two Companies from Pennsylvania
Author: Fred. C. Floyd
Publisher: F. H. Gilson Company (Boston)
Printing Year: 1909 First Edition

Condition/Details: Bound in blue cloth with gilt lettering to spine and blind embossed Mozart Association badge on front board, this antique volume is a scarce Civil War regimental history based on wartime letters and diaries; highly useful for personal insights into the Army of the Potomac. This volume contains the individual army record of nearly 3000 volunteers whose names are borne upon the muster-rolls of the regiment.

The work is illustrated with many photographic plates. This ex-library volume shows significant external age/wear, with tearing along gutters and taping at ends of spine. Text block is intact with mildly age-toned pages. Customary library markings and attachments are present. The book measures approximately 6 1/2" x 9 1/2" and contains 468 pages. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $4.50
