NOTE
The present work comes from the collection Ziedonis Ligers (1917-2001).Ziedonis Ligers was born in Saint Petersburg in 1917, studied ethnology in Riga and became professor of Latvian ethnology at the University of Riga. He moved to Bayeux (Normandy) in 1945. He wrote many books on Latvian life, Latvian art and traditional customs and also on African traditions and ethnology. He died in Bayeux in 2001.
