"The Works of Robert Burns". Cochrane and M'Crone, London, 1834. Red leather, blind-stamped and gilt decorated. AEG. Eighteenmo. Volumes I, II, VII and VIII have fore edge painted scenes connected with Burns' life. Volumes III, IV, V and VI have fore edge paintings after D.O. Hill for "Land of Burns" by Christopher North (1841). Bookplate of Joseph Gundry in each volume. Rubbing to edges. Very good + condition. An attractive set. From the Collection of General W.H. Vanderlinden, Jr., late of Hickory, North Carolina.
