the raised spindled gallery with shaped shelf and inset embossed copper panel bearing inscription VITA SINE LITEREIS MORS EST (Life without literature is death), above two glazed and leaded doors flanked by adjustable open shelves and raised on square tapered legs, stamped maker's marks
