Description: SERIAL #: 37868 DESIGN: Civil War era percussion straight breech loader. Sharps pellet priming system integral with breech block. 30" barrel. MATERIAL/FINISH COMPOSITION: Blued steel barrel. Case hardened receiver, breech block, lock, lever, and trigger plate. Walnut military straight stock and forearm. FEATURES: Brass blade front sight. Bayonet lug on bottom front of barrel. Rear folding ladder sight. Top of barrel stamped "NEW MODEL 1859". Three barrel bands. Sling swivels and period leather sling. Curved metal butt plate with top tang. Patch box on right rear of butt stock. Left side of receiver stamped "C. SHARPS' PAT. / SEPT. 12TH 1848.". Right side of receiver at the front is stamped "R.S. LAWRENCE PAT / APRIL 12TH 1859." Right side plate is stamped "C. SHARPS' PAT. / OCT. 5TH 1852.". CONDITION: Fine. Much of the blued finish remains blended with a patina on the barrel. Case colors are largely absent. Bore is good. Modest wear to stock with light scratches and dents. INVENTORY NO. / CATEGORY: 4739/ANT ESTIMATE: $1,500 - $2,000

PAYMENT
Invoices will be sent at close of auction noting purchase price of all lots won, buyer's premium and any applicable taxes and fees. To establish a tax free sale, a copy of a valid reseller's permit or license must be provided. Any purchaser claiming an exemption who is unable to provide proof will be required to pay the tax and seek a refund from the state of Pennsylvania. Generally all items shipped out of state are sales tax free sales. Buyers are responsible for compliance with the laws of the state in which they reside.
PAYMENT:
Payment to be made in five (5) days from invoice date via credit card, debit, cash, checks, money orders, cashier checks or wire transfers. Personal and business checks are held for ten (10) business days. Payments should be mailed to: Cordier Auctions & Appraisals, 1500 Paxton Street, Harrisburg, PA 17104. International purchases with invoice amount exceeding $1,000 require a wire transfer of funds. $50 fee to be applied to total (international wire transfers only).

PURCHASES OVER $2,500:
