A heavily carved case with a beveled pediment, turned side finials and a platform base with hairy carved legs and claw feet centered with a hanging fruit cluster. There is a rectangular compartment for adjusting the pendulum. Case is finely incised and gilt decorated. Has a 2 color marble dial with brass Roman numerals, a round brass movement signed by the maker "J.B.D. - 29692", matching the bezel. Time and strike on the half hour on a single bell rack and snail striking mechanism, strikes but does not stop properly. The movement is also signed by the case maker and retailer "Herter Brothers - New York". Movement is dirty and needs to be adjusted.
