Description: 20th century primitive Folk Art painting on canvas, mounted on top of cardboard "Little Bayou Shack" by Atlanta artist James Hiram Malone ( 1930 - 2011 ).The subject, painted in the mid 1990's, depicts a rural LouisianaBayou home at sunset. Signed James Malone. James Malone, a versatile & prolific African American artist was an retired graphic artist, cartoonist & writer. He was the founder & director of Laughing Trees, Inc., a non-profit, volunteer oriented organization. Also known for painting the trees on his property, his "laughing trees" in his Grove Park neighborhood, he was a famous fixture in Atlanta Ga's vibrant art community & hisworks are now collected internationally. James was famous for recycling materials, utilizing unconventional materials & would recycle frames for his artwork. 11" X 15" painting size. 19" X 24" in recycled woodframe.
