SINO-TIBETAN GILT BRONZE BUDDHA
QING DYNASTY, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
the cast figure seated in vajraparyankasana with a vajra before him, the right hand held in bhumisparshamudra and the left in dhyanamudra, the robe draped over the left shoulder, the head with tight curls and surmounted by an ovoid jewel, raised on a double lotus base
- Good overall appearance with rubbings to the gilt at the knees, the petals of the lotus throne and further areas
- There is a very shallow and short hairline split to the Buddha's neck which may have resulted from casting imperfectin
