[10, 141 pages, with errata slip preceding plate 5. 4to, 12 1/2x10 inches, contemporary half morocco, spine faded, joints rubbed; marginal foxing on uncolored plates at end of the volume. Gift inscription on half-title from Sir William and Lady Jardine; armorial bookplate of Peter Dowding Prankerd; stamp of the American evolutionary biologist Leigh Van Valen.
