Provenance: Hirschl & Adler Galleries, Inc., New York, New York. Salander O ' Reilly Galleries Inc., New York, September 30, 1997, Lot 202 (illustrated). Private collection, Pennsylvania. Exhibited: " Eakins At Avondale, " Brandywine River Museum, Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, March 15 - May 18, 1980. Literature: " Thomas Eakins - His Life And Work " by Lloyd Goodrich pub. Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. Possibly as No. 230, pg 180. " On the reverse, a cowboy mounted on a brown horse (the canvas is cut so that the rider is seen only to the waist). "
