Description: These three ranking badges from the 19th century are embroidered with a bird chasing the sun. The embroideries are done in blue, red, silver, and gold tones. Around the birds and within the borders are auspicious symbols. Two of the badges have been cut in half. The two smaller badges are 9 3/4 inches wide by 9 inches high. The larger badge is 11 7/8 inches wide by 11 inches high. All measurements are approximate. Condition: They are in good condition with the largest of the three having apparent signs of wear and fraying of the backing. Provenance: From a Southern California estate.
