Three Victorian Tested 14-Karat Yellow-Gold Brooches
The first, Circa 1853, a large tested 14-karat yellow-gold, black enamel and diamond mourning brooch having a scrolling yellow-gold foliate border centering a trellising floral and vine motif set with rose-cut diamonds (one missing), verso inscribed In Memory of/Ann Bean 26 June 1853 with a braided hair locket; the second, last half 19th Century, the yellow-gold mount having black and white enamel, verso with locket; and the third, last quarter 19th Century, having a tested 14-karat yellow-gold foliage border centering a pietra dura plaque of a red and white rose.
