Turner, Ted (American, 1922-2002)
Oil on canvas. Abstract figures at oceanside. Unsigned. 32" x 36". Ted Turner was a professor of art at the University of Virginia and at Dartmouth College. Turner's works have been exhibited since 1943 at museums and galleries including The Huntington (WV) museum; Charlottesville's McGuffey Art Center; the Delaplane Center in Frederick, MD; Babcock Galleries in New York City; the Montgomery (AL) Museum; and Norfolk's Chrysler Museum. Turner has been represented by Les Yeux du Monde Gallery in Charlottesville, VA. A number of Turner's paintings have traveled recently in the Virginia Museum of Arts travelling exhibition "Virginia Vistas" to Newport News (Christopher Newport University), the University of Virginia, and at the Museum's Folk Gallery. Turner's prints have been shown by the American Federation of Arts, and at the Brooklyn Museum.
