TURTLE-SHAPED STERLING SILVER VINAIGRETTE.
England, ca. 1800. Very unusual turtle vinaigrette, hinged bottom opens to reveal grill with openwork floral design, hinged grill opens to inner compartment. Hallmarks inside lid for Birmingham, 1805, Sterling, and maker's mark for Matthew Linwood. Fully engraved to resemble turtle shell. Measures approx. 1"l. x 1"w. x .5"d. and weighs 12gr.
Some discoloration to interior - commensurate with age and use.
