Description: serial #700807, 45 ACP, 5" barrel with a bright about excellent bore which shows only the beginnings of some extremely light frosting nearer to the throat. This is a rather nice early transitional model, retaining about 95-97% original dark blue, which appears as a strong 98% under normal lighting (under high-intensity light the slide can be seen to have some honest light fading to brown). The fully checkered walnut grips rate about excellent, the left grip showing a couple minor flattened points and one light impact mark midway down its length. The Colt barrel is appropriately "HP" marked atop its hood and a single "R" marked two-tone dual-pinned base magazine is included. Overall a very nice early transition "Improved Model 1911" in a very fine state of condition. (35599-3) {C&R} [Bruce Sikora Collection]
