PROVENANCE From the artist; to a private collection; by descent to the present owner. NOTES Gerardo Dottori (1884-1977) was a painter and member of the Futurist movement in Rome. His work in the Aeropittura style is noted for its abstraction of nature. Dottori's belief in the "total landscape" was influential in the drafting of the Manifesto dell'Aeropittura of 1929.
