Looking for the realized and estimated price?

Description: Vanity Fair: Forty-one Years of Cartoons, 1873 thru 1913, bound into fifteen folios by the United Service Club. Approximately 2000 original lithographic caricatures of esteemed and lampooned British personalities, along with the associated text pages. Page trim size is 14.75 x 10 inches.

The United Service Club was a London gentlemen's club founded in 1815 for the use of senior officers in the British Army and Royal Navy – those above the rank of Major or Commander – and the club was accordingly known to its members as "The Senior". The club closed in 1978. Because of its emphasis on senior officers, it was considered the most prestigious of London's military clubs.

Condition Report: Most illustrations are in excellent condition. Bindings are in various stages of deteriation, with some detached covers and loose pages. Not checked for completeness, but spot-checking did not reveal any missing illustrations.

Notes: Lack of a condition statement does not imply that a lot is perfect. Please examine photos, read descriptions, and contact the Gallery with any questions prior to bidding. Color fidelity of photos presented is not guaranteed.

Provenance: Collection of the Culinary Arts Museum at Johnson & Wales University
