Description: 9th-12th century AD. A silver neck-ring comprising two crescentic faceted rods bound together by crimped wire in two places, with hook-and-eye closure; the lower portion with stamped pellets and rows of triangular stamps with a pellet in each angle. See Graham-Campbell, J. & Philpott, R. The Huxley Viking Hoard: Scandinavian Settlement in the North West, Liverpool, 2009 for discussion. 108 grams, 19.5cm (7 3/4"). Property of a German gentleman; acquired on the European art market in the 1990s.
