Description: 9th-11th century AD. A miniature gold bucket with beaded wire strap handle, bands of filigree and granules to the sidewall, granule and wire decoration to the underside. Cf. Meaney, A. Anglo-Saxon Amulets and Curing Stones, Oxford, BAR British Series 96, 1981, p.166-168. 1.72 grams, 12mm (1/2"). From an old Munich collection; acquired on the German art market before 2000.
