Description: 10th century AD. A Scandinavian bronze openwork plaque with iron strip insert to the lower edge; the plaque tongue-shaped with central bifurcated strut, zoomorphic detail to the bow. Cf. Lehtosalo-Hilander, P-L., Luistari II The Artefacts, Helsinki, 1982, fig.21; Cacciandra, V. & Cesati. A. Fire Steels, Turin, 1996, plate I(4"). 15 grams, 47mm (2").
