Description: EDWARDIAN SALMON PINK AND CREAM FANCY DRESS COSTUME, Circa 1900; Marie A. Walsh, 3131 Wabash Ave., Chicago, Ill. label. Bodice with gold metallic trim, chartreuse silk chiffon oversleeves; split skirt reveals cream panel, descending into pleated train
In overall poor to fair condition; very fragile. There are tears and holes throughout the silk. The gilt trim is tarnished along the edges.
PROVENANCE: From the wardrobe of two generations of women from the Kenefick and Graves families who lived in Buffalo, New York at the turn of the century. The majority of the garments were worn by Dorothy Dudley Kenefick, 1900-1973, and Mary Beaty Herod Graves, 1895-1990. They descended through the family of Germain Kenefick Graves and Nelson Montgomery Graves Jr., of present day Buffalo.
