Description: WALTER H. WILLIAMS
(american, 1920-died after 1998)
"HARVEST"
1963, pencil signed, titled, dated and inscribed "imp," numbered 174/210. Color woodcut on thin wove paper.
image: 11 1/2 x 23 7/8 in. (29.2 x 60.6cm)
sheet: 15 1/16 x 27 7/8 in. (38.3 x 70.8cm)

Condition Report: With time, light and mat staining. The paper is very thin and exhibits evidence of previous handling. For example, there are soft handling creases evident in areas throughout. These are most concentrated and evident in veritcal patterns of soft creasing at the upper left and right and again in the upper center. Soft handling creases extend into the upper area of the image, particularly along the upper horizontal area of the image. The sheet is gently rippled. The upper left and right corners have remnants of brown paper tape verso. These extend slightly beyond the sheet edge. Given the thin nature of the paper, these tape remnants show through to the front and give the upper corners a darker appearance. With some stray ink in the margins, likely inherent to the printing process. Hinged to the support in three places verso at the top sheet edge.

Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Interested bidders are strongly encouraged to request a condition report on any lots upon which they intend to bid, prior to placing a bid. All transactions are governed by Freeman's Conditions of Sale.
