Graeff, a 1921student at the Bauhaus and member of De Stijl, became active employee for the magazine in 1922, and followed the style course of Theo van Doesburg. In 1923 he founded together with Hans Richter (1888-1976) the Zeitschrift für Gestaltung Elementare, called 'G' because of the large letter G on the cover.
