Description: 8th-7th century BC. An unglazed ceramic jug with low basal ring, globular body, trumpet-shaped neck with carination and chamfered rim, bifid handle to the shoulder, concentric red and black rings to each broad face, red and black strokes to the handle, chevrons to the shoulder. Cf. Amiran, R. Ancient Pottery of the Holy Land, Jerusalem, 1963, item 276. 964 grams, 25.5cm (10"). From a German collection; acquired on the German art market before 1990. [No Reserve]
