Description: 11th-9th century BC. A bronze adze with tubular socket and rear loop, ribbed mouth and ribs extending to the sides of the expanding blade with lateral flanges. See Muscarella, O.W. Bronze and Iron. Ancient Near Eastern Artifacts in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 1988, item 306 for type. 214 grams, 15cm (6"). From the collection of a North West London gentleman; acquired in the 1980s.
